NOTICE
List of items that will be subject to zero-rating on application to Remission Unit
The items listed below will be zero-rated on application to the Remission Unit, Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) by CG letter on imports provided that all the conditions are met. The Remission Unit will examine these applications, and a letter of approval will be given if all of the criteria are satisfied. This approval letter will then be used to process declarations in the Entry Processing Unit. If no CG letter is issued, or if there is a denial letter, the items will then be subject to the payment of full taxes.
a. Mosquito nets;
b. Vitamins, minerals and tonics for medical or health supplement use, excluding items such as energy drinks and food supplements classified under chapter 21 of the common external tariff.
c. Glucometers (glucose blood test machines), needles and glucose blood strips, made for use with such machines.
d. Machinery, equipment or components used in the generation of renewable energy in the agriculture sector using agricultural by-products;
e. fish hooks, sheet lead, fishing floats, cotton and styrofoam for use in the fishing industry;
f. Animal medication including animal vitamins;
g. All terrain vehicles used in the mining industry to the satisfaction of the Commissioner-General.
